In\u00a0the south of Naples<\/a> lies the beautiful region of Cilento, a natural park with a long coastline, mountains and forests. Surrounded by golden sand beaches and bays, lies Marina di Camerota, a beautiful seaside resort away from the mass tourism.<\/div>\n

In April 2017 we\u00a0spent there a week at the 3 star Hotel Calanca.\u00a0Still we remind the\u00a0wonderful sea view from our room, the delicious food and the warm hospitality of Andrea Bifulco and Valentina. Do we want to go back there? Of course – and soon.<\/div>\n

I prefer to spend the holidays with sea view and I\u00a0appreciate the authentic local cuisine. This is why the Hotel Calanca in Marina di Camerota is just right for me. It is located directly on the sea, just 100 meters from the beautiful Calanca\u00a0beach. The beach is at the end of the street.<\/div>\n

Family run hotel with history<\/h4>\n
The owner Andrea Bifulco has taken over the hotel 2012 from his parents and continues to lead it in the third generation. His passion is the Cilento, its natural beauty and its culinary traditions. Andrea and Valentina are very hospitable and cordial. They organize excursions and made us feel like\u00a0members of a family, because everything is arranged very personally and affectionately.<\/div>\n

Walking distance to Piazza S. Domenico<\/h4>\n
The hotel is only five minutes\u2018 walk from Piazza S. Domenico, the heart of the village center. Also the\u00a0harbour of Marina di Camerota, where many boat trips start to the picturesque Baia Infreschi, can be reached on foot. Excursions to the mountain village Camerota or to other places can also be organized by the hotel.<\/div>\n

Rooms with stunning sea views and Wi-Fi<\/h4>\n
All in all, Hotel Calanca has 20 rooms, all with direct or side sea \/ village views and balcony. The rooms are nice, clean and functional, the mattresses are comfortable. The Wi-Fi in the hotel worked very well, also in the room. There is air conditioning, which can also be used as heating. For the evenings in this year\u2019s cool April, the heating was really a nice thing.<\/div>\n
On the balcony you can enjoy the panorama with a glass of wine. Also a small refrigerator with water for the\u00a0excursions is available. A particularly nice view has the\u00a0Calanca room on the 2nd floor.<\/div>\n

Delicious breakfast with local products and cakes<\/h4>\n
In many Italian hotels the breakfast is a bit small. In Hotel Calanca there is a fine buffet with fresh rolls, homemade cakes, cheese, tomatoes, ham and fruit juices. A highlight are the warm Cornetti ! I especially liked the Sfogliatella, a pastry from Naples with ricotta filling.<\/div>\n

In the summer, breakfast and half-board are also served on the terrace above the pool in the shade of olive trees. In the summer, there are sometimes evenings with Neapolitan music and singing. The pool we could not use in April, but we liked its facility with sea view.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andrea and Luca (owner of\u00a0Aura – www.aura-cilento.com<\/a>) have set up a cooking course that teaches the Mediterranean cuisine of Cilento and the origin of their ingredients.

Hotel Calanca in Marina di Camerota: How to get there<\/h4>\n
Marina di Camerota is located on the coast of the Cilento region, south of Naples, Salerno and the ancient temples of Paestum. The nearest airport is Naples-Capodichino (NAP), from which Marina di Camerota is 180 km away. The journey from Naples airport to the hotel is easy. The hotel offers a airport pick-up service with a minibus. It\u00a0takes around\u00a0two and a half hours to\u00a0the hotel. Transfers and excursions to the surrounding area: Infante travel<\/a>.<\/div>\n

Conclusion:<\/strong> Ideal hotel for nature lovers, beach tourists, hikers and friends of Italian culture.
