The map of Naples shows, that the Harbour city has many small suburbs. Interesting for visitors is the historic centre of Naples, the Vomero hill with the monastery of San Martino, the promenade at Via Caracciolo and the picturesque harbour at the Castel dell’Ovo, Posillipo and Chiaia-Mergellina.
The city of Naples is located on the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of southern Italy.
It consists of several interesting districts, which includes the old town, the Vomero, Chiaia and Posillipo. While the old town is accessible on foot from the port or station, Vomero is located on a hill.
By zooming the map of Naples (+/-) you will see the district of Posillipo, with the Parco Virgiliano, right of the promenade of via Caracciolo, behind the Villa Comunale Park. There, you can make a lovely stroll to the Marina at the Castel dell’Ovo. Across the street from the Castel dell’ Ovo, are located the most popular hotels in Naples like the Grand Hotel Vesuvio.
The large harbour Molo Beverello with a beautiful cruise ship terminal and ferries to the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida is in the right frame. Napoli-Capodichino airport (NAP) is situated some kilometers north east of the city centre.
